Fabric Plasters vs Spot Plasters: Which First Aid Plaster Do You Need?

Plasters seem like the simplest product in any first-aid kit, but stocking the wrong shape for the job means more waste and worse coverage.

Fabric plasters

Fabric plasters are flexible, breathable and sized for cuts and grazes on hands, fingers and joints where movement would lift a rigid plaster. They're the standard, general-purpose choice for most first-aid cabinets.

Spot plasters

Round spot plasters are built for small, contained wounds — spots, minor punctures, small blisters — where a standard rectangular plaster overhangs the wound and wastes adhesive on unaffected skin.

Which to stock

Most workplaces and care settings need both: fabric plasters for the bulk of everyday cuts and grazes, and a smaller stock of spot plasters for minor, contained injuries. Stocking only one usually means reaching for the wrong size more often than not.
